This is the story of how I first came to hear of you, Cindy Lowy-- Woman. Christian. Wife.  Mother. Daughter. Author.  Poet. Artist. Jewelry Designer. The list goes on and on. Just wanted to share it with you.                                                                        
God truly works in mysterious ways. He is a perfect gentleman, always opening doors for us. I phoned a friend to tell her about a wonderful business opportunity that was presented to my husband, Randy, and me. During the conversation, I shared with her an experience that I had at a Gospel Concert in Florida last March. My husband was blessed in February of 1999 with a chance to take early retirement, which has allowed us to spend our last two winters in Florida. We were at this concert where several groups were featured. We  were really enjoying the music and the powerful message in song. I mentally said to God, (we keep a one on one conversation going throughout each day), "I would love to be able to do that but I can't sing like they can". It was as if He were sitting on my left shoulder and spoke right into my left ear, loud and clear---"You write the words, take them and go".                                                                                                     

I shared this with my friend, Pam. She did not even know that I write poetry. Most of what I write is spiritual. I just write the words that He puts in my heart. The pen is in my hand but He is in control.  He gives me the words He wants me to share. I told her that a lot of my family and friends have been encouraging me to publish my work. She told me about a writers group that she is in that meets once a month at a local hospital.  She gave me your name along with some information that she had and told me that you were having a book signing and free seminar at Barnes and Nobles Bookstore.

Along with your name and the name of the bookstore and date you were to be there, she included a phone number. A few days later, I called the number to get all the information I could about the event.  A gentleman answered the phone.  When I asked for information, he inquired as to whether I was calling about the seminar. I answered in the affirmative. He said, "Wait just a minute. I'll let you talk to my wife". Cindy. You got on the phone and talked to me like you had known me all of my life. I explained how my friend had given me the number, which I thought was to Barnes and Nobles Bookstore. I didn't tell you, but I would never have called your home. God at work again. 

You talked to me so positively and made me feel so at ease. Before I even realized it I was telling you about the incident at the concert in Florida. How I write poetry. How everyone's encouraging me to publish it. Things you normally would not discuss with someone you had never met and had only been talking to for a matter of minutes. You were genuinely interested in what I had to say. You asked me questions and encouraged me. You, (the author), told me you were looking forward to meeting me, (the unknown writer of poems). I felt so empowered by our conversation. You asked for my phone number and my email address. I knew from that brief conversation that  you were someone that I really wanted to meet.

Within a day or so of our phone conversation, I received an email from you, inviting me to your "open house". I was ecstatic!  My husband and I attended the open house. You were so open and friendly with us. You gave me advice and told me about a publishing company. You took time to make us feel welcome and special.  

I bought a copy of your book, "Harmony and Me". I started reading it as soon as I got in the car.  I started with the back cover. I had God induced goose bumps before I finished the first paragraph. It touched me so much that I didn't just read to me, I read aloud to share it with my husband as he drove. From the moment I started reading, I was totally engrossed. We stopped to eat and I read until the food arrived, still reading aloud. As soon as we finished eating and were in the car I was reading again. The book went everywhere with me. We were so busy getting our new home business off the ground that the only time I had to read was in the car. I was always either writing a poem or reading your book.

The following day we picked up our sixteen year old grandson, Wayne. I had been reading to Randy and myself on the way to his house. We left his house and I am reading to us all.  I finally realized what I was doing and said to the two of them, "I'm sorry. I'm going to read to myself so that the two of you can talk."

We went to our briefing and I told everyone there about the book. I told them that they must go out and get a copy and read it.                                                           

"Harmony and Me" is the most inspirational book I have read since Joni Erickson Tada's books.  I think she is the most amazing and inspiring person. She is such a witness. I would love to meet her personally and tell her what her books meant to me.

Every free moment, I was reading "Harmony and Me".  I couldn't wait to see what was happening in your life next. Just being able to read when we were on the road, it took me four or five days to get through the book. I finished it a couple or three weeks ago for the first time.  It is the most uplifting book I have ever read!  It is one of those books that is meant to be read again and again.  I know that each time I read it I will be more blessed than the time before. Thank you for that!                             

I love how in each chapter you shared "Chaos' Plan of Destruction" and then followed it with "Harmony's Pearls of Wisdom".  Always right on target!  You can tell that you were not writing alone.

The "Excerpt From My Personal Journal"  that were included throughout the book are so touching, especially the one where you talked about the moments of panic you  experienced just thinking about how people will react to what you have written. You have given totally of yourself in this book. You are to be commended for sharing from the privacy of your heart. 

I thoroughly enjoyed all the poetry in the book. Each sketch was so appropriate.                                                      

I thought each "Harmony's Healing Verse" was wonderful. They were all so upbeat and positive!                                                                                                      

Each "Affirmation" was inspiring.                                                                          

Each "Prayer" led us to consider choices we need to make in our life as well as things for which we should be thankful. You shared things that we should all know without hesitation. 

The Bible Verses that you shared were right on target!

There is nothing about this book that I did not receive a blessing from.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening yours and inviting me to look and learn from  someone as gifted as yourself.  "Harmony and Me" is the most uplifting book I have ever read. You are such a gifted person.  Thank God for people who use the gifts that He gives them to bless others.  Keep on doing what you are doing.  You never know who you will bless along the way. I am sure that there are souls that would never have found the highway to Heaven if you had not showed them the pathway to follow.

where my husband works and I just came in today to do wash and answer
e-mails, etc. I am a retired school teacher (1 yr) of Estill Co. and I live
in Ravenna, Ky. I am a believer in Christ and have been happily married for
31 yrs. Praise Jesus! I have 3 grown children. Nicole, 28  nurse at St. Joe
in Lex.  Matt, 26 who has 2 babies Noah and Isaac and a beautiful wife Lori
who live in Campbellsville and my baby Luke who is 25 and lives in an
apartment over our garage and works for AFG in Richmond and cuts hair on

Hello , I recently e-mailed you suggesting a book called "Harmony and Me" by Cindy Lowy . I want to tell you what a difference knowing this lady has made in my life . I want to share my blessing with you by offering your show ( for the ladies who I have become connected to ) a paid for address ,  given by Cindy , called Creating a Peaceful Life . It lasts 30 - 45 minutes and has a very positive message for all ages . Chaos used to be something that I invited in my life daily. Cindy's book , "Harmony and Me" has benefited me greatly ! Mother’s Day Letter  written by Cindy Lowy

 I would like to share a special Mother’s Day letter I wrote for my Mom. I hope you enjoy it and will perhaps be inspired to write letters of love and appreciation to the special people in your life. We never know how long our loved ones will be with us.  Will you take a little time and jot down some loving words to  your loved ones too?

To my Mom, Colista Ledford

Dear Mom,

            I want to let you know how much you mean to me. Somehow, it always seems too easy to let important things go unsaid or undone. So today, I want to tell you what is in my heart and wish you a very happy Mother’s Day.

            I have many fond memories I would like to share with you. First, I want to tell you that your gentle touch and loving smile light up my life. To me, you are the most beautiful woman in the world, both inside and out.

            In your care, I always felt special, loved and secure. Mom, you provided a wonderful home for me, my brother and sisters filled with love and laughter. You showed us that simple things were the best, such as playing board games or just sharing a meal together. You never hesitated to sacrifice for us, often staying up with us when we were sick or giving up something for yourself so that we could have what we needed and wanted.

            Not only did you make me feel secure and loved, but you also helped me believe in myself. By your example and encouragement, you gave me the confidence I needed to become the woman I am today. By your example, you showed me how to adopt a can-do spirit and develop self-reliance. You’ve never been a complainer. Instead, you work tirelessly and do what needs to be done. And, you encouraged my creativity. You taught me how to sew and gave me ample supplies for my artistic creations. From the time I was little, you made me believe I was an artist; you made me believe I can do anything.

Mom, I am so proud to be your daughter. Your generosity of spirit is something I try to emulate. You always have time for others and have helped so many people and good causes in your life. You never hesitate to give of yourself to others. Even when you are tired and not feeling well, you are gracious and kind to friends and strangers alike. These qualities endear you to many. When I need a dose of these things, I need only think of you and then somehow, I am able to bring forth these qualities in myself. Many times when I feel unsure about how to handle something difficult, I ask myself, “What would Mom do?”

            I want to thank you for all the wonderful things you have done for me, such as babysitting my son when he was little, and now, by promoting my career. I want to thank you for all the great home-cooked meals and little surprise gifts you have given me. You are always so thoughtful and generous. Most of all, thanks for being there for me. When things got really rough a few years ago, you never let me wallow in self-pity. Your supportive, loving and encouraging words have always been the perfect words to keep me going in both good and bad times.

            Mom, thanks for being you. There are many more wonderful things I could share about you, but for now I will close with this: You have shown me that the most important thing in life is to think, feel and speak from my heart. Mom, I love you with all my heart.
