INTERVIEW WITH MICHAEL FESS

Cindy: Hi Michael. We met several months ago, quite by divine providence and I’d like our readers to know more about you. Actually, I had been praying that God would send me the perfect musician to provide just the right music for guided meditation CD’s I wanted to do. Will you tell our readers how we met, and how and how our creative partnership came to be?

Michael: Well y’know ...hahaha…we never know exactly why we do the things we do sometimes....and this was one of those times. I say this cause I don’t go to the psychic fairs--and if I am going ...its not to get a 'reading.’ I’ve always been one to ask Spirit or Archangel Michael if I have a question about anything...but for some reason on this just 'this' Sunday after church, I spontaneously asked a friend to go  with me to the fair.

Upon arriving the energy of the room and the place where it was ....just was not the most conducive place to have an event like this ...I’m scanning the room and looking around and I see the Biggest Light and the Brightest Aura....and it’s Cindy Lowy-whom I do not know...but I’m thinkin' y’know, I haven’t done this in 15 yrs. --- maybe it will be fun!' So I go pay my thing and usually there are people lined-up to get readings from her--but not this time. At this particular moment -she’s free. I sit down, but its different this time - I’m 'reading' her and I see many Guides and Angels all around her --- unusual ....but I think they were both our Guides and Angels, combined that I saw....

I said “Gosh Cindy there are certainly a lot of people here!” and she says, “Oh yes, we've had quite a good turn out today.”

And I said, "No Cindy, I’m not talking’ about 'those' people!" and we both laughed!  

Several minutes later I see on the program that Cindy is going to speak. And I wanted to hear that---so I go into the conference room and she’s speaking.....while I’m there---she begins a guided Angel Meditation and whooosh! I’m gone away inside of it----and the healing I experienced...and the Angel Harmony that made Her presence known to me was overwhelming....

When it was over I approached Cindy and said, “You need to have music with your meditations.... you have a gift...I’ll put my music to your guided angel meditations and we'll collaborate and make a CD. It'll happen so fast you will not believe it."

And it did. What I did not realize at the time was that I had met Cindy Lowy at a drumming circle in her home 3 years before....I told Cindy 'we were set-up.'  Spirit is like that. So be it.

Cindy: Let’s focus on you. How many years have you been a musician and composer? What instruments do you play?

Michael: I’ve been a professional musician for 35 years. I play piano, drums, and I sing.

Cindy: When did you first realize you were musical? Were your parents musical? Did you take music lessons, or are you self-taught? Do you read music?

Michael: I first realized I was musical around 9 years old. I remember a crystal radio set given to me by a friend of my dad....and I couldn’t get enough of AM radio (that’s all they had back then). ....hahaha…showin’ my age here! My mom was actually a pretty good singer and she sang and danced at the USO shows at Ft. Knox when she was a kid.  I did take a few piano lessons for awhile. I came home from a stay in the hospital after being very ill---and a piano was sitting in the living room. I was overjoyed, but I was one of those kids who had a very difficult time sitting down to practice at that age. In 6th grade I discovered drums---and it was all over for me----I found my calling! Only later in life did I come to understand piano and I always used it as a tool for writing songs.....

No, I have never read music, although I was taught as a child. I forgot all of it along the way--and there never was a call for it in any musical situation I was in.....I play by 'ear' and that’s enough for me.....

Cindy: You said you were very ill. Did that influence the direction your life took?

Michael: I was born with asthma, and in those days there was no treatment...so every asthma attack was a near-death experience for me...it influenced my outlook on life as I saw how fragile life was...and to never take anything for granted in this world--no matter how great or how trivial it may seem.~

Cindy: You’ve played a variety of music over the years. Is it true that when you were in high school, you joined a band, and recorded a hit single?

Michael: In high school I joined a band called The Company Front. This band recorded a single called 'I’m So happy Now' and went to number one on 2 radio stations here in Louisville, and climbed the Billboard charts high enough to send us on tour and doing TV shows.  I remember playing at the Fairgrounds with The Association---what a thrill that was for a 17 yr. old! I was attending Jeffersontown High School at the time. I played drums in this band which evolved into a band called The Wulfe Brothers, a band still together here in Louisville, Kentucky.

Cindy: You played music aboard a cruise ship for a number of years. What do you consider some highlights from those years?

Michael: In 1988 I was playing in a band called The Gary Edwards Band and we were invited by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines to come and entertain on their ships. This was the beginning of a long relationship with RCCL and I was able to see the world in quite a different way---up close and personal being on the ships.

The highlights for me were sailing all thru the Caribbean and going over to Europe to Madeira , France. Africa, Spain, England....etc.....the opportunity of a lifetime.

Cindy: What bands are you playing with right now, and what do you enjoy about playing with them?

Michael: I am playing in 2 very different bands right now Cindy. One is an R&B band called the BB_ Taylor Blues Band which is all Motown dance music....and a lot of fun. It’s old Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye songs all night long. The second band is more a tropical band ...like a Jimmy Buffet thing almost--so I just love that island music! 

Cindy: Lately, you’ve been composing spiritual music, some for meditation and chakra alignment and clearing. What inspired your new direction, and what is the process you use to compose this angelic music?

Michael: For 20 years I had this incredible urge to experiment with synthesizer sounds ---and combining them with piano and nature sounds...to create a whole new 'New Age' genre. There is no process per se, other than I work with Archangel Michael and the Heavenly Hosts to 'hear' Spirits voice and record that the best way I can. I hear the music of other stars...other planets in my head and do my best to find those sounds and layer them into something unique---so the listener can journey with us........

Cindy: How does your angel music benefit people, and do you think everyone needs this?

Michael: I think my music promotes an alignment with your Higher Self.... to seek a 'vibration'... a 'completion' with the Higher Octaves of Light---and at the same time it is calming, peaceful, and serene----perhaps helping self to 'get out of ones way' as it were.....and find that sacred spot in the Heart. I believe everyone needs it at some point in their lives for the simple fact that we think too much and we are moving from the 'Language of the Mind’ ~ to the ‘Language of the Heart’....

Cindy: A lot of people enjoy your music, but a lot don’t know that you channel messages from Archangel Michael. When did that start, and how does this communication happen?

Michael: I started doing this with Michael in the early 90s when an event occurred called the 'Galactic Tidal Wave of Light.' It swept over Gaia with an incredible amount of Love from Source. From that point on I was able to weave this feeling into my music and felt it became influenced by the Heavenly Realms....

Cindy:  How do you think music can help, even heal, people? Will you explain this so our readers can understand the process? For example, on your Michael’s Magic Meditation  CD the music seems to move the listener through different energetic levels and moods. Can you explain this process?

Michael: Some music has a such a high vibration ….that it can move things in the physical body that are not there to serve your highest good ----this is how they did it in Atlantis. Michael’s Magic Meditation CD is music that moves you thru all 12  energy centers and spins the chakras totally ‘clean ‘ of all negativity and debris- such as emotions that are dead or negative that don’t belong there any more. Many ‘isms’ can be healed thru all 4 bodies when you surrender to this music and bring that Golden Light streaming down thru your Crown Chakra.

Cindy: So do you have a favorite CD?

Michael: Well, right now I favor ‘Lemurian Dream’ cause it took a long time and I’m really proud of it. A Labor of love, it was. ‘Michael’s Magic Meditation Music’ has got me goin' right now, too.

Cindy: Michael, what would you say are the most important goals you have for the next few years? Where do you see yourself headed?

Michael: My main premise is service work thru whatever Spirit holds for me . Of course I will continue to record and travel with my music. I have 2 albums I'm working on into 2007 – so my goal is to finish them…..I'm exploring different sounds in keyboards now and that is always challenging. 

Cindy: You had some pretty wild times during your rock n’ roll days. So now that you are on this spiritual path, how would you say your faith and spirituality fulfill you?

Michael:…there was never a time in my life when I was not aware of Spirit---or I did not hear Her message ….or feel Divine energy near me—although I knew I was given my time to ‘play’ …it was all I needed before I seriously settled down into my ‘contract’ with Spirit.

What I do now is far more fulfilling than any experience I ever had in the entertainment business …..even concerts and TV can't hold a candle to the excitement of just writing a new song or making another New Age album…..

Now I am connected and fulfilled.
