Although we fear death, it can never snuff out our spirits. Death is a transition. It is a natural process, like moving from one room to another. I fear the death of my loved ones. I dread missing them. But I do not fear death. My form will change, but my spirit will not. We all must face death. Perhaps we can even find grace in it. If it is your time to move into the world of spirit, then fear not. If it is nearing the time to say goodbye to a loved one, then pray that their transition be graceful and peaceful. If you have lost a loved one, know that they live on. May your heart be filled with peace and the love of your loved ones. May your Creator welcome his children back into his loving arms.

Below is an article I wrote about a man who had two near-death experiences. I have a friend who also had a near death experience although I have not yet recorded it.  I know of others. Near death experiences are common. Please put aside your skepticism as you read.

Near Death Experiences

Near Death Experiencer: Ernest Hillman

There are many people who have had near death experiences (NDE’s). Below is a case of a man that experienced not one, but two near death experiences.

Ernest Hillman is a rugged man from Maine and used to hard work. He has spent a good portion of his life doing jobs that require heavy labor. Ernest does not consider himself to be religious. However, he says he has been quite psychic since he was little. He has accurately predicted future events. He also sees the spirits of dead people. Sometime they appear as shadows, but often, they look as if they are actually alive. Sometimes, he even hears their voices. For many years, Ernest was bombarded with so much psychic information that he was upset and disturbed by it. So he finally prayed that he would only receive psychic information he could use to help people. For instance, he once received a vision of his friend’s old stove blowing up. He called her immediately and was able to save her life by warning her about what was to take place. As it turns out, the stove was damaged and had she lit it, it would have blown up in her face. He says that he feels much more comfortable with this arrangement and is glad that he can help others with his gift of psychic ability.

Ernest Hillman’s first near death experience occurred when he was twenty-seven years. At the time, he was doing off-shore lobster catching in Maine with his father The temperatures had been very cold for awhile, hovering about10 degrees above zero. One afternoon, Ernest and his father returned from another frigid day of lobstering. His father noticed that Ernest was sweating profusely and advised him to go to a doctor. The doctor examined Ernest and sent him to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with triple pneumonia. The doctors gave him the choice of staying there in an oxygen tent or going home and taking strong antibiotics. However, they cautioned Ernest that if he chose to go home, he wouldn’t have much chance of surviving the pneumonia. Ernest chose to go home.

When he got home, Ernest immediately got a Coke from the refrigerator and took his medicine. He told his wife that he was going to bed and did not want to be disturbed for at least three days. He said, “Just leave me alone because I will either be alive or dead in three days.”

After three days, Ernest got up and went to the bathroom. He was shocked to see that his urine was bright red, but he could see that there was no presence of blood. He walked into the living room and went over to his wife. Ernest said, “Sometime during the last three days, I was told by the Masters of Light that everything would be fine.” Ernest knew he had died and had received this message from luminous light beings to reassure him he would be okay.

Ernest was resilient. He went back to working full time. Shortly after his first near death experience, Ernest (who was also a volunteer firefighter at the time), was called to a house fire.” I was told to go into the burning house to get the other firefighters out,” said Ernest. Miraculously, neither I nor any of the firefighters was hurt in what was considered to be a devastating fire with little hope of getting anyone out alive.”

Ernest soon regained good health and continued to have many paranormal experiences which he simply took in stride.

At the time of his second NDE, Ernest was still living in Maine and married to his second wife Kelly.

One morning, Ernest got up early. He was sitting at his coffee table and in a state of deep meditation. After awhile, he looked up and saw the bottom of a white flowing robe standing at the top of the circular staircase. Ernest thought to himself, “Kelly doesn’t have an outfit like that.” As he was thinking this, his eyes traveled upwards until he saw a pair of angelic wings. As soon as he began to comprehend that he was seeing an angel, the angel disappeared.

Ernest thought back to the many times he had looked up at this same balcony and had seen a shadow of a spirit looking in both directions. This had been occurring for the last two years in the early morning. Ernest concluded that what he had just witnessed was the same angel he had seen before, but in a different form. In later years, he learned that the angel’s name was Daniel.

Ernest and Kelly later moved to a mobile home on Kelly’s family farm in Marengo, IN. At the time, he owned several restaurants there. However, he and Kelly began to have marital problems. When Kelly finally asked for a divorce, Ernest became very depressed. He states, “ I looked up at the heavens and asked God to take me before Kelly filed for divorce. I told God that I had had enough.”

Shortly after, Kelly filed for divorce. The following Friday morning, Ernest woke up early with severe chest pains. Says Ernest, “I had a hernia, so I just thought I was having a flare-up. So I went to the kitchen to get some coffee. I picked up a cigarette and went over to the couch. As I started to sit down, I felt a crushing blow to my chest, as if someone were hitting me with a hammer. I took some pills for my hernia, hoping that would help. It didn’t make me feel any better. So I took a shower, got dressed and had some more coffee. I even had some ice cream which usually made me feel better when I was having one of my attacks.”

Ernest got in his truck and drove down the road. Shortly after leaving his house, he blacked out while driving. When he came to, he realized something was really wrong so he headed back to his mobile home. He got to the front door and was greeted by Kelly. As soon as she said, “Good morning,” Ernest started to collapse. Kelly helped him into the living room and called and ambulance. However, Ernest refused to go. He said, “I’m not getting into any ambulance.” He began to feel a little better and went outside. Kelly followed him and said, “We’re going to the hospital.” At that point, I felt pretty sure I was going to die.

During the forty-five minute ride to the hospital, Ernest had several more heart attacks. Says Ernest, “It felt like someone was beating on my chest. I knew I wasn’t going to make it so I told Kelly goodbye. We were about a quarter mile from the hospital. As soon as I saw the ER sign, I immediately let my body and traveled into a tunnel of light. It was a beautiful shimmering light that looked like sunlight bouncing off water. Next, I felt a pair of hands on my shoulders and looked into the face of a man with incredible love in his eyes. He had long hair and looked just as real as any human. But when he spoke to me, it was more like the transference of thoughts because his mouth never moved.” Ernest went on to say, “He told me that I had to go back and finish things I had started. He also told me a lot of other information. Unfortunately, it was transferred to me so rapidly that I could hardly take it all in and cannot remember it. I was overwhelmed by this being’s unconditional love for me. It felt wonderful.”

Just as suddenly, Ernest returned to his body. “All of a sudden, I found myself back in my body on the operating table. I could not move. An attendant stood over me asking how I was. I asked her where Kelly was and she said that Kelly was outside making phone calls to the family. Then she asked, ‘What’s going on?’ I said, ‘My head is boiling. My sight is going and my hearing is going. I hear the wind tunnel of death.’ Then I heard her start screaming at the doctors. Immediately, the doctors started yelling orders to get me to Louisville.”

Ernest was not aware of his trip to Louisville. He says, “I woke up at The University of Louisville hospital in the CCU. The nurse on duty told me that my back was burned from the paddles used during the efforts to restart my heart. I was surprised to hear that the doctor’s report stated that I had no damage to my heart whatsoever. After being released from the hospital, I went to the VA hospital. Unfortunately, I was given drugs which began to deteriorate my muscles which included my heart. At some point, I realized that the drugs were killing me. Finally, I turned to natural medicine which began to restore my health and strength.”

Ernest doesn’t know why he had two near death experiences, or what it is that he is supposed to do before he is allowed to return the world of spirit. He says, “I am not afraid of death anymore. I don’t mind dying at all. My only regret will be leaving behind those who love and need me.” Ernest’s near death experiences gave him a greater appreciation and respect for his Creator. “I never take the Lord’s name in vain anymore,” said Ernest. “I know how much he loves me.”
