Mandalas--
Using
different media, explore the various ways to create beautiful mandalas,
a personal
expression of you!
Leave your problems at the door! This one day workshop will concentrate
on centering yourself
and finding the artist within. You will begin with a guided meditation
to help you relax and be present
and then we will move through a series of exercises, including some
creative writing to help
you find your inner voice. This is a day just for you! Artist and
non-artists are welcome. I
f you don't have any There will be plenty of art supplialready
provided, but
feel free to bring any supplies you might like to use.
Enjoy taking home a beautiful mandala to frame.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to do watercolor?
Come experience the fun of watercolor painting.
This class introduces students to the beauty and luminosity of the
watercolor medium. Emphasis will be
placed on the basic techniques of color mixing, brush
techniques, watercolor washes, and design. You
will be able to complete a painting. Enjoy advancing at your own
pace in a relaxed, casual atmosphere, in a small class with
lots of individual attention. A great way
to bring out your inner creativity, meet new friends, socialize,
and just chill out. Come see for
yourself how therapeutic and fun an art class can be!
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
Bring a 1” flat watercolor brush and three tubes of color (Alizarin
Crimson,
Cobalt blue, and Cadmium Yellow) to the first class. I will have
a complete list of necessary supplies
at the first class. Watercolor paper will be available for
purchase, or you may bring your own.

Learn about this exciting new painting
surface. Imagine hanging your finished watercolor painting without
glass, without a mat, even without a

workshop.

experience required. Canvas and a limited selection of paints and
gel medium is supplied. Please bring

About Your
Instructor:
Cindy
Lowy Fess, a professional artist and award-winning jeweler, is a certified K-12 public
school art teacher, having taught in both Kentucky and
Connecticut, with experience teaching
all age and skill levels, from beginner
to advanced. Cindy’s teaching style is encouraging,
relaxing and non-threatening. Cindy’s work includes many art commissions including faux
finishes and murals, paintings, mandalas, and 2 horses for Louisville’s 2004 Gallopalooza.
Cindy’s art has also been chosen for the covers of numerous publications.
